The weekend of the 11th to 13th was Shizendo Norway course attended by 60 students both adults and children. My old and newly refurbished wooden dummy, repositioned for training in the garden, peace and quite and next to the Koi Carp pond.
A new training session has been added at Cascades Leisure centre for Karate Kids on Friday at 6.30pm to 7.15pm exclusively for 1st Kyu and above. The session will cover all aspects of 1st Kyu training, Kata, pairs work and application, a must for all 1st Kyu’s.
The course was an In-depth look at pressure point striking within kata and body mechanics, power lines of the body through spirals and compression. Three hours of mind opening training, enough for a life time of study.
Ji Yu Kumite is the free style application or function of the pre-set techniques contained in the grading syllabus.
